ABOUT

So you want to know my story? I'll spare you the details because it is a long story. I was born and raised in Houston, Texas. My wonderful parents are Omar and GiGi Gamez. I have an "older" sister named Mireya. I stress older because she is so proud that everytime we ask people to guess who is older, they always choose me. I'm happily married to Monique Y. Gamez. We will be married for 14 years this year. We took in an amazing young lady 2 years ago. Her name is Deborah and she is now 20 years old. My son, the bboy and awesome musician is 16. My witty daughter Zoe is a mature 11 and already in junior high (keep me in prayer, lol). Amaya, the model is 6. Zion, my little shadow is 3 years old. And yes, there is another one, Annalise was just born at the end of last year.

I grew up on the Northside of Houston. At thirteen I was introduced to street dancing and at the same time drugs & alcohol. Well let's just say I excelled at both. By the time I got into high school I was headed down the wrong direction. I ended up attending 5 different high schools and didn't graduate till I was 21. Oh, by the way that was the same year my high school sweetheart was pregnant and my son was to be born that year.

After graduation, while attending an outreach community center for breakdancers, I gave my life to the Lord at a Christian Hip Hop concert. I was invited to do ministry with local Christian rapper, Bobby "TRE 9" Herring. Tre began to disciple me and even put his money where his faith was to fund my first Holy Hip Hop Rap Album. That's right, I was now a rapping breakdancer. My weekends were now beginning to fill up with touring the local youth group and outreach events in Houston.

Allthough I stepped into RAP, street dance for me was on another level. Our crew won a competion that ranked us #1 in the United States in the year 2000. Shortly after, we flew to Germany to compete against 64 countries. We took home 3rd place. Well, when that VHS tape went around the world, God began to open doors for us that we could never open ourselves. To this day, our street dance crew, HAVIKORO, has been to over 50 countries around the world.

Well, in 2004 I started a performance company that focused on school assemblies, after school residencies, and outreach. We called this company URGEWORKS. Our programs became very popular as we used the positive aspects of the Hip Hop culture to teach objectives that were found on the TAKS and STAAR tests. Book a show today!

So, while all of this success and ministry was going on, behind closed doors I had a big secret. I was still hooked on alcohol and drugs. 8 years of living a lie while proclaining the truth. In 2006, I began to have anxiety and panic attacks. It drove me to drinking everyday. I met a Pastor in 3rd Ward in July after rapping at his church. I introduced myself to him afetr the service and while we were shaking hands, God spoke to him. He invited me to breakfast that week and when we got together, he told me I was going to be their next Youth Pastor. He was a prophet, but there was one problem... I didn't believe in the supernatural. His word did way heavy on my heart and just three days later a random stranger at Lakewood church asked me a question. He said God was speaking to him all service to come and ask me something. Well, he said, "are you ready to start doing youth ministry?" Get outta here! lol... Twice in 3 days! So I heard the call, but didn't know how God was going to do it. Fast forward to a hotel in Virginia that same year December the 31st. I had drank everyday that year from the month of May till December the 31st. I ministered at a church that night and was about to drink a beer in my hotel room. God spoke to me in that moment through an impression. He spoke over me Proverbs 3:5&6. After fighting with God, I chose not to drink that night and surrendered my life to him again. When I flew back to Houston, I called the Pastor from 3rd Ward and said, I'm ready." His reply was, "I know, we've been waiting."

The Touch- I went to my first service at his church on January the 7th, 2007. He invited me down to the altar, layed hands on me, and yelled out one woord... "TOUCH!" It was all over from that moment on. The power of God filled my body. The anointing of Holy Spirit destroyed my yokes right then and there. I have never been the same since that day.

I was their youth pastor for the next two years then released to go start my own ministry. That ministry is what became, The Worship Experience. In December of 2010, that ministry became a church. We met for 2 years in a 4,000 sq, ft, warehouse off 34th and Mangum. After two years God told us to move the church into the promise land... you guessed it... 3rd Ward. We moved into an 8,000 sq. ft. warehouse off Scott St. We developed the church and the building to create an artsy, but anointed place of worship and training.

Just when you think you have everything figured out, God clearly spoke to my wife and I and told us to close down the church so we could be free to be the church. He said we would be a church on the go. Shortly after I was invited to be a part of the Reinhard Bonnke planning committee for the crusade scheduleded for February of 2015. Guess what team I was assigned to... Evangelism.
